Digging Deeper into Ourselves

without comments

This is the third part in the series. (part 1 and 2)

Last time we left starting to acknowledge the void left by the men in our society. That this lack of Godly leadership has left a burden upon the women to not only step up, but to strive towards perfection in their lives. I have yet to meet a mother who didn’t want the best for her children, or a girl whose heart didn’t desire the best for her friends. God designed everyone to strive for the best in all they do. But women weren’t to rule (see Isaiah 3:11-13, women ruling is a side effect of the cultures sin issues) rather to walk side by side with men. As men we have been entrusted with much, including looking out for the welfare of those in our company. So how do we do this, how do we be men of God to lead those entrusted to us?

Really the fault of feminists?

without comments

Part two in the series. (part 1)

A counterpoint to my last entry. I don’t really believe that it’s feminism that is ‘destroying’ manhood, but rather taking advantage of a larger and more unchecked/un-noticed problem. A problem that I’ve personally address a couple times in my life, and it is just that, unique and personal. No one is spared and no one is immune from being a part of there own and personal problem. It is the unchecked nature by which we live our lives and the things that we allow to dwell within our hearts that secretly destroy us from the inside out.

Feminists destroying Manhood

with one comment

Part one in the series

Growing up as a male in our American culture we are left wondering what our roll should be. Now it doesn’t help that most of us have been raised by women who are unable to teach us what we must be like to be Men. It also is a problem that the men we live around are to scared to stand up for what they believe in. This is a double edges sword that is cutting down authentic and biblical manhood.

Of what shall we Boast?

without comments

Our lives are spent accomplishing everything from project, compiling a great work of historical value, loving others, bringing peace, causing war, attaining friends, knowledge, wealth, and a number of others simply limited by our imagination. It seems only natural to be excited about that which we’ve done before, or are on the verge of completion. I can think of a number of things that I’m excited about from my past; skiing in particular. What are we to do, to boast of, to be excited about, to tell to others?

Jeremiah 13:23

without comments

“Can the Ethiopian Change his skin
or the leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good
who are accustomed to doing evil.”
-Jeremiah 13:23

Why turn from going against the Lord now? The longer you wait the harder it will be, and eventually you will reach the point of the people of Judah being unable to genuinely turn towards God and be lost from His grace. Let pride speak to your heart and tell you that you are unique, let truth tell you that God killed and displaced his chosen people for reaching a point past repentance. In His eyes there are no excuses (what they were taught by their leaders/parents) just the reality of his love and what it will take to bring His people back into an intimate relationship with Himself.

Working on MidwestSkier

with one comment

It’s been a couple days and I’ve got the website coming along quite well. I’m excited to see how it all falls into place and to see if there will be any growth out of it. I’m using a CMS (content managment system) this time around instead of writting my own. I just have to finish the identity of the site and then from there design some clothing and put it online for others to print. I’m pretty stoked about it and how it’s coming along.

Here is the new typeface, working on a logo and sheild for later.
MS typeface

We’re going for kind of a medieval/ren. period and we’ll see how it goes over. I might fidget with that a bit more but it’s mostly how it’s going to look. Any critique is more then welcome, please!

Interesting Connection for Africa

without comments

Not the normal type of post, but did anyone else notice the connection between the death of the african rain queen ( Rain queen dies at 27 ) last week with president bushs most recent announcement about aid speeding to africa? ( Bush pledges to speed up aid to Africa )

I’m surprised our amazing media didn’t catch this, very very interesting. Who says there isn’t a massive media bias. psh.

Where did all the space go?

without comments

So I’m working on Midwestskier a little bit again and I was looking at the space usage and couldn’t figure it out. It said I was using 670 megs of my gig. I have taken most of the old site down and am playing with some cms stuff and the numebr didn’t shift… weird is what I thought first. Then I decided to check the dump email account… yea, only 69,315 messages in the inbox (or about 3470 pages to list the email)… thats all spam from the last year that didn’t get read. hmmm, now to see if I can turn mailbox dumping off and empty it out. haha.

What to Be…

without comments

For the past several months there has been an on going struggle that has been gripping me. Tonight I finally started to realize what it truly was I am having such a hard time over. What to be? It seems like such a basic question, one we even ask to elementary students (thought their answers will almost inevitably change). For me it has been everything from astronaut to paleontologist, Film writer/producer/director to missionary and they are all missing one thing from their answer. Who for, and it is of the utmost importance that this question should preface everything we look for and desire in our future.
