State Fair Food 2007!!

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

This year Jordan and I went to the Minnesota State Fair with some good friends (Kyah and Rob respectively) and had a blast. We also discovered that when you pair up with friend the amount of food you can consume and purchase as a group increases!! Below is the pictorial diary of our good eats (albeit a month after the fact).

So what all did we eat? In order from the top left; Pronto Pup, Deep Fried Snickers Bar, Gelato Ice Cream, Tom Thumb Mini Donuts, cinnamon and Sugar Lefsa, Pickle on a Stick, Spaghetti and Meatball on a Stick, Free Water!, Roasted Nuts, Salmon on a stick, Wild Game Bratwurst, Lemon aid, Shaved Hawaiian Ice, Cheese Curds, Cotton Candy, Roasted Corn on the Cob, 1919 Draft Root beer, Bucket of Sweet Martha’s Cookies, and All the Milk you can Drink for a dollar!!

Jealousy should have already set in.

It was a great day, we escaped just before the clouds opened up and it started to pour down the rain (we went on 8/28 for $8 at the gate!). To see more photos hit the link!

Environmentally Friendly Design - Eden Prairie Wake UP

Friday, June 15th, 2007

There are few things that really get to me when it comes to nature. I’m not one to be up in arms about trees being cut down because of how old they are, or to get outraged about de-forestation in third world countries. I see the working of market economics in these situations and can understand them enough to ease my concern.

However when we design and put something into nature that inhibits the natural order of things, when it’s meant to be in a recreation area, I get upset. This happened tonight when my wife and I were walking through the few years old Purgatory Creek Recreation Area in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

New York City!!!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

It has been a few weeks since we returned from NYC but it was a really fun trip. After finals were done we headed to the twin cities and took off the next morning for New York. The balance of just finishing another semester with being somewhere on vacation is just awesome.

Jordan and I went out on a photography walk today, trying to capture some of the snowstorm that moved through over the past 48 hours. I took this one and felt like posting it first. There will be more.

Snowflake

After several years the time has finally come to send my camera into canon for some major repairs. I don’t yet know the cost but hopefully it will be sub $500 so that I can afford it… I’ve looked at the price to replace it and it is still very expensive. Then there are all those memories, don’t forget the memories snowflake. I shall miss you a bit. I hope that the doctors over at the Canon can take care of my camera.
